Performing Arts

Performing Arts plays an integral role in the children’s personal development at Rodmarton Primary School. We ensure every child in school has access to rich and varied opportunities to experience the arts, through music dance and drama. We aim to develop creative, confident and capable students who are happy to stand on stage and perform in front of an audience.

Children will experience:

Nativity Performance

All our Reception to Year 3 pupils will perform in our annual nativity performance.

Summer Production

Year 4 to Year 6 will perform in a summer performance.

The Mock Trial

The children play the role of the prosecution or defence and learn about the legal justice system in a mock trial against other schools.

Look Who’s Talking Competition

Children talk for two minutes on a subject of interest and can compete with children from all over Gloucestershire.

Young Voices

Children take part in concerts, joining the country’s biggest choir in an arena with live bands and famous acts.

Within the school, we offer peripatetic lessons led by specialist teachers in teaching:

LAMDA (The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) teaches children Acting, Speaking Verse and Prose, and Speaking in Public. If they wish, they can take a graded LAMDA exam.

Piano Lessons

Individual or paired piano lessons

Rock Steady Band

Fun and inclusive in-school rock and pop band lessons for all age groups, with performances for parents.
